UniProtKB description:  Flippase that catalyzes the hydrolysis of ATP coupled to the transport of lysophosphatidylserine, phosphatidylethanolamine, and phosphatidylserine from the lumenal to the cytosolic leaflet of the Golgi apparatus membrane and ensures the maintenance of asymmetric distribution of phospholipids (PubMed:27235400, PubMed:30824614, PubMed:34645814). Does not appear to transport phosphatidylcholine or sphingomyelin (PubMed:34645814). May be involved in recycling from endosomes by driving the formation of SNX3-dependent recycling tubules (PubMed:28404745). Required for COPI retrograde transport from the Golgi to the endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi-endosome trafficking, and Golgi-dependent protein glycosylation (PubMed:12960419, PubMed:15314152).
