Launching the viewer
|
After clicking the link to launch Protein Workshop you will be prompted to "Save" or "Open" the jnlp file:
If you do not have the option to open the viewer as a Java Web Start application this could mean you do not have the latest version of Java installed. If the "jnlp" file "Saves" to disc then you may open the downloads window of your internet browser and click on the file here. This action should launch the Java Web Start application.
Once Java Web Start is launched it will download the required file. This only occurs once per software release cycle. In other words your local computer cache will be updated with the new version upon each release, otherwise future access to this application will use local (cached) resources and the download time will be much quicker.
After the application is downloaded it will ask you to "trust" it. Click the "Trust" button until the application launches and the structure is visible.
