RCSB PDB Mobile

This new universal app provides fast, on-the-go access to the RCSB PDB. The app enables the general public, researchers and scholars to search the PDB and visualize protein structures over a WiFi or cellular data connection.
Search the entire PDB database, view the latest protein and nucleic acid structures released, access your MyPDB account, view the entire catalog of Molecule of the Month articles, and more!
A beta test version for Android platform is available for download.

View molecules in 3D
View PDB structures with the molecular viewer NDKMol (courtesy of Dr. Takanori Nakane, Kyoto University). Interactively view a molecule from by entering a PDB ID or launching the viewer from the search results. Images can be saved to the iPhone's Camera Roll.
Search the PDB
Search the entire PDB by macromolecule name, author name(s) and PDB ID. Up to one thousand results are displayed for each search query in a scrollable list. The latest weekly releases can also be viewed at the press of a button.
Filter returned results
Query results can be instantly filtered by author name, title and organism to rapidly identify relevant results.
Access Molecule of the Month articles
View the latest feature and browse the archive of Molecule of the Month articles that highlight important biological molecules and how they function with descriptive text, and pictures. Links to example molecules can be viewed within the app.
